Throwback Thursday: Puppy Entertainment

When you’re an “only sibling” you sometimes have to learn to entertain yourself. Even at a young age I learned how to play fetch by myself….

Of course it’s always fun to have someone to play with! Does your dog sometimes play by himself too? Ammo the Dachshund

Friday Fetch: Pet Peek

If my backyard had a solid fence, then the Pet Peek would be at the top of my “must have” list! The Pet Peek is a durable plastic dome that can create a window view in any solid fence for your dog. This DIY project is a must have for any dogs that want a “peek” outside their own yard!

A Day of Sticks

A Day of Sticks // Ammo the Dachshund

When I woke up yesterday morning and the air smelled heavy of rain – I surely thought I would be doing nothing else than curling up under my blanket at the shop. Boy was I wrong.

A Day of Sticks // Ammo the Dachshund

I spent most of the day holding down the fort car, while mom and dad proceeded to load our trailer up with thousands and thousands of sticks from some fallen trees in my backyard. Apparently the hurricanes earlier this year didn’t like the trees in my backyard (they even took out my special pear tree).

Once the sticks were loaded we had to take them to the township mulch site for composting. I may have cried a little when I thought of all those poor sticks being chopped to bits….I’m sure they would of much rather stayed in my backyard and been chew toys for a little dog that I shall not name.

We came and went with those loads of sticks more times than I care to count. It was a never ending joy ride for me aka an EPIC DAY OF STICKS for mom and dad.

I guess I’ll just have to wait until next year’s hurricane season for that taste of yummy sticks again.

Harley, Ammo and the RC Car

ammo the dachshund and harley the RottweilerIt’s been a while since I’ve gotten to play with my neighbor Harley. So over the weekend I popped over to her house and we had a little fun chasing her Dad’s RC Car in the backyard.

Ok well mostly I watched Harley chase the car while I bossed her around (she really has no idea she is a Rottweiler). But it was a blast!

Play Fetch Everyday

Don’t you just wish you could play fetch all day long?

It’s these simple pleasures of summer that I enjoy oh so much. I hope you get to play fetch today too.

Deer Hunter

See that look on my face, that’s the look of a tough as nails bounty deer hunter.

A few days ago there was an intrusion in my backyard, and although I may not “shoot to kill”, I still pack a lot of Ammo.

And by Ammo I mean lungs of steel! That deer didn’t stand a chance.

I definitely showed that deer who’s boss!

And afterwards I had a little swagger to my step. Ok, well maybe it was more of a hop & skip – but you get the idea.

Did you hear that?

Oh Hey! Now that you’re here, did you hear that?

ammo the dachshund listening

There it was again, did you hear it that time?

ammo the dachshund listening

I think it might be coming from my apple tree.

I mean it smells harmless enough though.

Wait, I heard it again, you swear you don’t hear that?

Oh no…..I knew it…

…those darn birds are laughing at me again! Now someone please give me a boost, I’ve got some chatty birds to get at!

An Apple A Day

Friday is the first day of Autumn here in the good old US of A. Which means the apple tree in my back yard is looking a lot like this lately:

Fall is my favorite time of year, not only is my Birthday in 2 weeks (October 5th to be exact), but it’s the anniversary of when I met my family. So to pre-celebrate the lovely fallness, I had a little chow down on my first apple of the season.

This means I don’t have to go to my annual vet check up in November then, right?
