Throwback Thursday: A Dog and his Kitten

spider the kitten

My cat pal Spider has been living on the farm for several years now and over the years I have gotten to watch her grow into the cat that she is today – all thanks to me. It’s true, when she was just a wee little kitten I taught her all of the important things to know….

Like how to chew on sticks….

and climb trees….

Without me she would be lost! Ammo the Dachshund

A Day of Sticks

When I woke up yesterday morning and the air smelled heavy of rain – I surely thought I would be doing nothing else than curling up under my blanket at the shop. Boy was I wrong.

I spent most of the day holding down the fort car, while mom and dad proceeded to load our trailer up with thousands and thousands of sticks from some fallen trees in my backyard. Apparently the hurricanes earlier this year didn’t like the trees in my backyard (they even took out my special pear tree).

Once the sticks were loaded we had to take them to the township mulch site for composting. I may have cried a little when I thought of all those poor sticks being chopped to bits….I’m sure they would of much rather stayed in my backyard and been chew toys for a little dog that I shall not name.

We came and went with those loads of sticks more times than I care to count. It was a never ending joy ride for me aka an EPIC DAY OF STICKS for mom and dad.

I guess I’ll just have to wait until next year’s hurricane season for that taste of yummy sticks again.

Hiking, Biking, & Swimming

I’m a little behind on my adventures, I mean honestly, I have so many that sometimes I forget to write about them all on my blog! Crazy I know!

Well this adventure happened over Labor Day Weekend – almost 2 weeks ago! Gosh, I’m really behind. Anyway, my mom took me and Trooper (and my grandparents) to hike on a trail. Can you believe I’ve never been hiking! I guess my life has been so crazy busy that I forgot to ask my mom to take me.

Anyway, I had my first encounter with Bikes on the trail, and I even played fetch in the water with Trooper. I’m getting braver about swimming – pretty soon I’ll be swimming laps around the fishes. For now though, I’m taking it slow…..you know…..gotta work up to it. I’m only one! I’ve got plenty of time to learn!

Do you think someone will give me a ride? My little legs are tired
