Ammo the Dachshund on the Farm

This time of year I spend a lot of time hanging around the family farm. While mom does chores and rides ponies I hang out with my gal pals, Cricket and Spider.

Lately though our time together seems to get interrupted by the barn swallows that have made their home in the barn.

Swooping, diving, and yelling at us – those birds are relentless in making sure we know that our presence near their nests are unwelcome. Honestly, I can’t say I blame them – Spider, Cricket, and I are fierce hunters – and I may have ~~inadvertently~~ purposely helped Spider take down a few birds out of the air. In my defense, they do like to scream at us a lot!

I’ll be looking over my shoulder from now on when I’m on the farm. Does your dog like to chase birds too?

…those darn birds are laughing at me again! Now someone please give me a boost, I’ve got some chatty birds to get at!

Dog Snatcher

I almost got snatched out of my yard the other day. No joke.

I don’t know what it is that tried to snatch me, but it looks like this:

It swoops out of the sky and snatches up little weenies like me. I’m not stupid, when I saw that creature coming for me I cried like a baby and banged on the door until mom came running to let me inside.

Once I was safe inside my big glass dog house I let them have it. Pretty much I told them who’s boss, I don’t think they’ll be coming back anytime soon.
