Step 1: Lay out a sheet of wax paper and using your rolling pin flatten out a piece of model magic that is large enough to fit your cookie cutter. Keeping it about 1/2″ to 1″ thick.

Step 3: Tear away the excess and poke your bamboo skewer into the spot where you want the string for hanging to be.

Step 4: (optional) You can stamp a name or word into your ornament using the rubber stamps if you choose. It’s a great way to personalize them for all your friends! (no ink required as you will be painting them later)

Step 5: Allow the model magic ornaments to dry for several days so that they harden. (they will harden faster if you set them near a heat source (not on it!) and remove them from the wax paper)

Step 6: Once your ornaments have hardened you can add a few coats of gold spray paint (or really any color you like). Optional – add some glitter by sprinkling it on while your paint is still wet.

Then just add some twine and your ornaments are ready to hang on your tree or gift to a friend!

Friday Fetch: Picture Your Pet as President

If you’re like me, then you daydream about being the king of the world (i.e. the president), or sometimes even an actual King. Well what if I told you that you’re pet could actually be these things…..well sorta. Artist Patricia Carlin created a series of prints for Uncommon Goods in which you can have your own pet turned into the president, or a king/queen, a boat captain or even a biker. How cool is that!

Barkbox Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer: This review and giveaway is brought to you by Barkbox.

I had heard great things about Barkbox, a monthly subscription plan of goodies for your furry friend, and I was super excited when they offered to send me a box.

Last month I received my very first Barkbox delivery, and since it was the month of October, mom was determined to get a photo of me in my Halloween costume with my box of goodies.

Barkbox Review & Giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

Only when I got a sniff of all the glorious things inside my October Barkbox, I just couldn’t be bothered to sit pretty in my Ninja Turtle costume for photos. So I ripped off that mask and dove right in!

I loved the pack of shareable Halloween treats, which I even shared with a few of my doggie friends. And the Mutt Meatballs look like a blast (all you have to do is add a pound of ground beef to the mix and cook).

Birthday Cookies

Birthday Presents and Homemade Cookies // Ammo the Dachshund

My 5th Birthday landed on Saturday this year, and while you probably already saw what I had fun unwrapping, there was one other special gift from my best friend Trooper that I wanted to share with you!

Birthday Presents and Homemade Cookies // Ammo the Dachshund

Thoughtful Trooper gifted me a box of bake at home dog cookies from Dog Joy. I was just dying to bake these all natural oatmeal and peanut butter cookies, so on Saturday night mom helped me pop them into the oven.

After putting them on a baking sheet and popping them in the oven I had to wait an unbearably long ten minutes for them to cook. It was torture I tell you.

But when they popped out of the oven smelling of peanut butter goodness it was totally worth the wait! Thanks to my pal Trooper for making sure my tummy never goes hungry! Ammo the Dachshund

Friday Fetch: The Bear & The Rat Frozen Treats for Dogs

With my summer officially in full swing (never mind that the official start of summer isn’t until June 21), I know that with the hot days ahead I’ll be itching for some cool treats.

I came across these all natural frozen dog treats from The Bear & The Rat that are made with real yogurt and packed full of probiotics to help aid in your dog’s digestion. With flavors like Banana Peanut Barker and Bacon Peanut Barker they totally have me drooling. (Sadly I’ll never get to taste test these myself though, because my tummy is sensitive to yogurt – but I can live vicariously through you!).
