First up we have a lovely Dachshund Sleep Study Print by Kimmy Hogan from White with Three! Modeled after her own mini dachshund, Rio, this sleep study documents 8 of the many contortions that us doxies love to sleep in.

Recovering an Ottoman with a Helping Paw

Easter Egg Hunt for the Dogs // Ammo the Dachshund

This is my sunroom, my favorite room in the whole house. (Don’t mind the easter eggs and the snow outside – this was taken earlier this year). I spend a lot of time in here, since it’s got the best view! See that ottoman in the middle, well I also spend a lot of time on that sunbathing. Which is also the reason why mom decided that the fabric needed to be changed (on account of my “sometimes” muddy paws).

Now I’m no stranger to furniture restorations, I’ve helped mom repaint chairs, and dressers – but this would be my first fabric recover!

Furniture Restoration // Ammo the Dachshund

So mom broke out the tools, but that’s not really how this Dachshund rolls – especially when you have some built-in tools of your own…..

And thanks to me, about an hour later I was looking at my brand-new ottoman!

Covered with a charcoal grey sunbrella fabric, mom says it’s designed to take a bit more of a beating than what was previously on it.

As long as these paws are still allowed on the furniture than it’s A-OK with me! Ammo the Dachshund

Friday Fetch: PetEgo DIY Picasso Bed

Being an artist myself I’m always on the lookout for creative pet products. So when I came across PetEgo’s line of Picasso Pet Beds I was intrigued.

The concept of decorating your pet’s bed yourself with the provided washable markers is to enhance the relationship between you and your pet. The fun of being personal designers for our pets adds a unique touch to the enjoyment of being pet owners. This looks like a great product for kids to be involved with too!

Friday Fetch: Go! Pet Design

Modern and stylishly designed pet items is the name of the game for Go! Pet Design. While studying industrial design at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, Peter Pracilio found himself making his first dog crate for his rescued miniature pincher who needed his own digs. He furthered his love of design and pets by creating Go! Pet Design, which sells a variety of pet items, here are a few of my favorites:

DIY Dachshund Cork Board

When I came across this DIY project on pinterest, it inspired me to create something similar for all the dog (and dachshund) lovers out there! So I enlisted the help of my mom and whipped up this fun DIY project…

This project can be made using any dog shape (not just a dachshund), so have fun, be creative, and create something unique!

Materials:

Step 1: Adhere your cork onto a piece of cardboard using glue or a spray adhesive to make it a bit sturdier.

Step 2: If you would like to make a dachshund cork board download and print my dachshund shape, then cut it out. Otherwise you can print out a photo of your own dog (making sure to enlarge it) and cut out around the shape.

Step 3: Using a sharpie trace around your stencil on your cork board.

Step 4: Cut out your cork board shape using an exacto knife.

Step 5: Place your frog tape in a striped pattern along the cork.

Step 6: Paint onto the cork between your tape with acrylic paint, when it’s dry peel away the tape.

Step 7: Cut a strip of ribbon to be used as a collar and staple or glue it to the cork on the back.

That time a Car Crashed through my Shop

Those of you that follow me on Instagram may have noticed an interesting photo that I posted last weekend:

No joke, at about 2am on a Friday night mom and dad got a call from police that a stolen vehicle had crashed into our shop. Truth be told, I never even woke up – even when mom and dad left the house to go check it out.

Mom and Dad spent hours at the shop cleaning up the damage, which there was a fair amount of.

And when I arrived at work the next day, I couldn’t believe what had happened to my shop!

Even though there was lots of damage, thankfully no one was hurt in the crash. I’m counting my lucky stars, because it could of been much worse.

And I’m thinking now that the windowsill is damaged anyway, perhaps we should rebuild with a dachshund sized perch instead! Ammo the Dachshund

My Ponies Head to Chincoteague

Every year my mom packs up the ponies and heads to Chincoteague Island in Virginia for the Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction the last week in July. Sadly I’m always left behind for this annual homecoming of sorts, mostly because mom says it’s too hot for me!

So while I stay home with dad and watch movies, eat junk food, and stay up way too late, mom and my ponies are performing all week long at the Chincoteague Pony Centre in the hot summer weather. Perhaps I got the better end of this deal?

Afternoon Shopping

Shop Dog // Work // Ammo the Dachshund

So you may have noticed that my post was a little later than normal today. I blame it on my mom. Because while I’m laying around the shop looking like this today, she’s too busy with work to help me on the computer! I guess I could help, but it’s so hard to when all I want to do is lay like this!

So to help with your inevitable afternoon boredom (which I’m sure you have by now), I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite things from my shop so you can go shopping! Because the must have cure for being bored – is online shopping!

Painting with Minnow

Painting with Minnow the Painting Pony // Ammo the Dachshund

This is Minnow, one of the most talented artists you’ll ever meet, and he’s my bestest pony friend.

Painting with Minnow the Painting Pony // Ammo the Dachshund

Painting is one of Minnow’s favorite things to do, can’t you tell by that big smile on his face?

Painting with Minnow the Painting Pony // Ammo the Dachshund

When Minnow gets ready to paint I’m never far from his side, because every great artist needs an assistant.

Trooper likes to help too sometimes, but he doesn’t always have the focus to be a great painting assistant.

I on the other hand might as well have paint flowing through my veins, and the messier the job the better!
