Friday Fetch: Obtrack Dog Coats

You all know I love a good coat, especially during the cold winters here in Pennsylvania. So when one of the blogs I read (Oscar Ate My Muffin) posted about a pet coat that they absolutely love, I knew I just had to check it out.

The Obtrack coats were designed to protect a dog’s important muscle groups, thus keeping them from injury. Their coats have multiple points of adjustments to tailor the fit to each individual dog, and they even come in Dachshund sizes! These highly breathable, but exceptionally warm coats are nothing but stylish looking – and I certainly have added one to my wish list!

Friday Fetch: Richards Harness Coat

Now that the winter weather is here, it’s time for me to really start bundling up in my layers, especially on the farm. One of the things that always plagues me is that I not only end up layering multiple coats to stay warm, but I also have to fit in a harness somewhere too.

So when I came across Richards Harness Coat I thought, now why didn’t I think of that!? Never mind the fact that I can’t sew (it’s those cumbersome paws)!

Featuring winter coats, rain coats, and more – all with built in harnesses – these coats come in a variety of sizes to fit small to large dogs. They even have extra long sizes, for all those extra long dogs!

Friday Fetch: Billy Wolf Fine K-9 Coats

November is officially here, and in Pennsylvania that means that I will be wearing my coats most of the time while outdoors now. I’m always on the lookout for stylish coats, so when I came across the Billy Wolf Fine K-9 Coatery I knew I had found a winner.

From Billy Wolf:

After several failed attempts to find her dog a tasteful coat, fashion designer Lyndsey Drago took to her sewing machine and tailor made her Chihuahua Cujo a tartan plaid coat from an old jacket that had grown too weary for wear. With Cujo sporting his new coat, Lyndsey was stopped block after block on their daily walks by strangers complimenting his coat and requesting one of their own for their pooches. Thus, Billy Wolf Fine K-9 Coatery was born.

Fall Jacket Time

Ammo the Dachshund // Fall Jacket Time

It’s that time of year again where I get to break out my fall and winter wardrobe – as it’s been getting a bit cooler now.

I tend to wear my jackets a lot more when I’m on the farm – gotta keep warm and toasty when hunting for groundhogs.

And as a bonus, I look extra stunning in yellow.

Smelling the Flowers

Lately I’ve been coming in from the back yard looking like I was in a snow storm – covered in a dusting of white.

But not to worry, it still really is Spring here in Pennsylvania – and the reason for my snow storm-ish look lately – the glorious flowers are blooming!

In particular my peach tree in the back yard is blooming!

Now normally I’m not really a “pink” kind of guy, but I have to admit – the flowers are very pretty.

And not only do they look glorious, but they smell pretty good too.

Although, (to be fair) you probably shouldn’t take my word for it – considering I do like to munch on horse poop on occasion.

As much as I do enjoy a good old fashioned snow storm, my spring time “flower petal snow storms” are quite enjoyable too. And it just reminds me of how important it is to stop and smell the flowers on a daily basis, even if they don’t smell quite as delicious as horse manure.

Friday Fetch: New Products from Noodle

When you’re a Dachshund it can be really hard to find coats and products to fit your very unique body type. Lucky for me I’ve been a customer of Noodle and Friends since I was a wee pup! Noodle’s family outfits the Dachshund community with stylish accessories that even a farm dog like me can rough and tumble around in.

So I was uber excited when Noodle announced her new fall and winter line!

The Cavendish Plaid Coat screams winter-time warmth. And I don’t know about you, but it’s Holiday-esque plaid colors make me want some hot coco.

Spring

I really like Spring. Mostly because it means the door to the Sunroom gets opened. Which means I get to bask in the glorious sun….

Trust me, once mr. sunshine gets going this place heats up like a sauna. It’s glorious!

The sunroom is so amazing, because not only do I have a place to get my tan on (complete with comfy couches), but should the need arise – I have my own person door to my outside kingdom.

As you can see I use my little door it it’s full advantage. It’s very convenient for bringing in sticks and apples from my apple tree should I decide I want a snack later.

What more can a dog ask for?

Friday Fetch: Weenie Sweaters

Ok, so I know that NOT everyone out there that reads my blog is a Dachshund, but I just can’t help but come across some of those fabulous products that have DACHSHUND written all over them. So if you aren’t a Dachshund, or you don’t have a Dachshund friend (for shame!) then look away. Otherwise, check out these totally awesome sweaters made to fit the short and long!

Every Stitch Counts makes sweaters (and neck warmers called snoods) from all-natural re purposed virgin fibers. All of the wools are felted making them especially strong, warm and weather “proof”.

Since my Pennsylvania winters can be a little harsh for me, I decided to order myself a sweater! Being that I’m a Tweenie (for you non-doxie folks that means I’m too big to be a miniature dachshund and too small to be a standard dachshund), there wasn’t a selection of sweaters in my size. But luckily Susan from Every Stitch Counts said she would make one specifically to fit me!

So if you are looking for something to keep your little Dachshund friend warm, be sure to shop the handmade shop of Every Stitch Counts. P.S. Tell them Ammo sent you!

Frodo the Dachshund models his sweater and snood! Doesn’t he look super warm?

And here’s me in my new sweater!

Look! I can even stretch really long and it still fits!

You better believe I’m super warm and toasty out at the farm now!

P.S. I was not paid to write this post, I just like warm and fuzzy sweaters!

Beach Weather

A couple of weeks ago I spotted this…..

That’s a photo of my pal Cricket “sunning” at the farm. How you might ask? With a heat lamp of course! And you can bet that I begged and begged my mom until she finally relented and bought me my very own.

It’s like I’m at the beach at work! Pretty cool huh?

So while it’s a chilly 19 Degrees in Pennsylvania today I’m baking at the beach inside the shop!

I bet you wish you were me! 🙂
