New Ride

Over the years I’ve been on many amazing adventures.

Many of those adventures were experienced from the backseat of Dad’s Toyota Corolla.

Oh The Places You Sleep: Vol. 5 with Ammo the Dachshund

From trips to the lake to beach days, I have so many fond memories of riding in the back of the Corolla. But as all good adventures inevitably have to come to an end, it was finally time to say part ways with Dad’s car, just as I did a few years back with Mom’s Tahoe.

So about a month ago Dad went out and scoped out a new ride for me (and my soon to come little sister) that would have plenty of room for more fun adventures.

While I was a bit annoyed that Dad didn’t consult me first before bringing home this Mazda 3, I was somewhat curious to see if it would really compare to the reliable Corolla I had grown to love so much.

I was skeptical at first, I mean is this really that much better than the old car?

But, after my first joyride in the Mazda landed me at my favorite place, the lake, I figured it couldn’t really be all that bad.

I’m pretty sure my “after” face says it all as I screamed “MORE ADVENTURES PLEASE”!

I’ve already been busy breaking in the new Mazda to my liking.

After all, wet dog smell is an acquired scent that you have to work really hard at getting to stick to a car’s interior! 😉

Adventures in Home Improvement

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Over the weekend I took a trip with my family to my favorite dog friendly home improvement store.

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

As with many trips to the home improvement store, I wouldn’t exactly call it thrilling.

Shopping for all the things necessary for a future kitchen remodel at my house is enough to bore a dog to sleep (as if my big yawn wasn’t clue enough).

Eventually I convinced mom and dad that if they let me out of the cart our trip would be much easier – since I’m great at sniffing out deals!

Little did I know that once out of the cart mom would make me practice my sit/stays and healing. I guess a working dog’s work is never done!

Eventually we made our way over to the kitchen appliances and I was ecstatic to see that the new trend in fridges were easy to reach and easy to open – perfect for little dogs with short little legs!

Despite my desperate pleas that we must upgrade our fridge to one of these, mom and dad said I have to save a lot more pennies before we can afford to buy one of them. Darn! Just when I had figured out where I plan to store all my hot dogs. At least a dog can dream.

What we did come home with was a new dishwasher (on account of mine has been leaking all over the floor….and mom and dad got tired of chasing me around the house after the towels that were supposed to be keeping the floor dry….hehe).

Although honestly I don’t see the point, considering I’m the absolute best dishwasher they are ever going to find!Ammo the Dachshund

Does your dog think he’s an expert dishwasher too?

My Weekend DIY Dipped Yellow Chair

Sometimes over the weekend I take on a few DIY projects around the house. Mom says I’m her favorite little helper, and pretty much I agree.

On this particular weekend I decided to help Mom makeover an old chair we had sitting around the house. The BEFORE was pretty blah, but I knew just what would do the trick after seeing this pretty lady on Pinterest:

So I did what I do best – supervised while Mom taped off each of the four legs with painter’s tape.

Then Mom gave it several coats of spray paint while I chomped on my ball in anticipation. I would of helped, but as you know, these cumbersome paws can’t exactly work a spray paint can.

After a few hours of drying time this baby was ready for a photoshoot, and we all know how I love a good photoshoot!

My new yellow chair looks fabulous with it’s dipped legs don’t you think? I’m now contemplating painting everything this way……how do you think I’d look dipped in teal – it would be the hot new trend in painted pets. I’m gonna be famous!

New Backyard Throne from Ikea

When Mom and Dad brought home a whole slew of boxes from their trip to Ikea over the weekend I just knew it was gonna be a great day! So we set out Sunday morning to put everything together so I could find out what wonderful goodies they had bought me.

I was extremely involved in the entire process – helping mom decipher the instructions and gathering tools.

Ok fine, that’s not really how it happened….

…but I was really tired, and it was hot, and I have these cumbersome paws. Don’t judge.

When it was finally built (thanks mom!) I was through the roof excited that the Ikea Boxes had provided a brand-new outdoor throne for me!

I have so much more room for activities now!

The new outdoor throne is definitely a huge upgrade from the rock hard stone bench I had before.

So thanks Mom and Dad, and Ikea, for giving me a spiffy new place to guard my backyard from. And yes mom, I’ll try to remember to wipe my feet first.

Helmet Upgrade

I wish this post was about me getting a stormtrooper helmet. I mean come on, how cool would that be!

No, instead – It’s embarrassing to admit – I have a flat head. Maybe not as bad as Frankenstein – but needless to say I could probably balance a few books on it. And just to clarify, having a flat head does not mean I have any less brains in there!

But since my head kinda falls short in the dome department, I’ve had a bit of trouble keeping my super awesome stunt helmet on my noggin. My mom had originally made a few adjustments on it for me – which worked just as well – but I thought it needed an upgrade. Lets just say my mom (in her haste to help keep my hat afloat) sewed the fabric upside down. And as much as I love my mom (love you mom), it just looked sloppy.

So after a few days of brainstorming with my mom, I give you the finished product! Thanks mom! You know I’d sew it myself if I had fingers.
