See those big dogs sometimes don’t understand how big they actually are. And they also don’t always realize how small you actually are. So when you have a PLAN B incase things get a little too rough, life is just a little bit easier.

Trooper is never thrilled when I decide to take a trip into my hiding places, but even as much as I love playing with him – sometimes he doesn’t know his own size either.

Dachshund Life Struggle

If you follow along with me on Facebook or Instagram, then likely you may have already seen my most recent endeavor, the Dachshund Life Struggle.

Now you might be wondering, what exactly is a Dachshund Life Struggle? Well my friend, simply put – it’s all the things that make being a Dachshund so-dang-hard. The struggle is real my friends, and in order to bring awareness to all the very very hard things us dachshunds have to deal with on a daily basis I’ve started compiling a list.

Friday Fetch: Remote Control Chase Toys for Dogs

Ok this one is for all the guys out there (my dad included)! Check out these super awesome remote control pet toys from Go Go Dog Pals.

Throwback Thursday: Puppy Trooper

Ever since I was 8 weeks old my buddy Trooper has been the dog I looked up to. He came to the shop with me everyday, where he was in charge of “training” me for the first year or so of my life. I like to think that I got my sassiness from Trooper himself, and I’m pretty sure these videos of a young puppy Trooper (before I knew him) hanging out at the shop totally prove my point!

P.S. Isn’t it amazing how much lighter Trooper’s coat was when he was a puppy? Now everyone just thinks he’s really old with his mostly black coat with bits of gray. (he’s only 7) Ammo the Dachshund

When you spend a lot of your time on a horse farm it’s inevitable that you’ll find yourself in the tub more often than not.

Bath time rituals become pretty common for me as I’m used to hearing things around the house like “what’s that smell?”, “what did you roll in this time?”, or my favorite “The smell is horrible!”.

While my patented weenie stench is not something all members of my household enjoy (what do you mean you don’t like the smell of soggy worms and horse poop?), I can say that sometimes I do enjoy the benefits of a good bath.

Not only does my after bath aroma warrant extra cuddles and the praises of “you’re so soft” and “you smell like sunshine”, but…

….I find that afterwards my pleading eyes for more cookies mom, are almost always met with – “of course you can have another cookie, because you’re so clean and sweet!”

Attack of the Killer Toad

A couple weeks ago this toad came out of nowhere on the farm. He snarled and lunged right for me! I’m pretty sure he thought having a tasty bite of wiener dog for dinner would hit the spot! Don’t worry, I foiled his dinner plans….

My ponies recently got a new toy to play with in their pasture.

Mom fills it with bits of hay and horse treats, and the ponies proceed to bite, kick, and roll it around the pasture in the hopes that one will eventually pop out of the hole.

It was quite obvious they had no idea what they were doing. So being that I’m so well versed in the art of interactive toys, I offered to show them how it’s done.
