Shilah the Husky goes Pink with Glowdoggie

Disclaimer: This review is brought to you by Glowdoggie.

You may remember me mentioning my pals (Hi Liela & Harriet!) over at Glowdoggie a time or two, as I am no stranger to their LED lighted collars. I own several in many of their varying colors (yellow, blue, red, green) that I wear daily on the farm, in my backyard, and even on nightly walks at this time of year, but did you know that they also make girly colors? Like pink?

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought it was the perfect time to show some pink around here, so I enlisted the help of my female friend, Shilah the Husky, to model one of Glowdoggies pink ultra collars.

Stunning, right?

I can’t say enough good things about the Glowdoggie product, they’re durable, waterproof, long-lasting (using batteries to keep them glowing), and bright.

And since this is MY BLOG, I couldn’t let Shilah have all the fun – so I broke out my Glowdoggie mini in yellow so I could get in on the photoshoot fun.

Shilah may be pretty in in pink, but I’m manly in yellow!

I’m pretty sure we could be super models, especially after I taught Shilah the Blue Steel look.

Well I guess that is until you see our outtakes, in my defense a bug flew in my mouth, and Shilah thought she saw a bird!

So if you are looking for something to keep your pet safe this fall and winter, make sure you check out Glowdoggie. I always wear mine on Halloween (or during Halloween parties) on the off chance someone “accidentally” lets me out (which MAY have happened before). But with the Glowdoggie I’m never hard to spot in the dark, which keeps me safe from cars and makes it easier for my family to spot me.

Valentine’s Day Treasures

Last week I celebrated the hallmark holiday (v-day) at home with my family. Curled up on the couch, with a small token gift or two, it was the perfect way to celebrate the day!

Happy Valentine's Day Friends // Ammo the Dachshund

I gave out tons of free kisses, and mom and dad got me a few small items to show how much they care.

A bottle of shampoo & conditioner from my Friday Fetch Feature, Organic Oscar, and a bag of healthy cheese and bacon treats!

Thanks mom and dad, you’re the best! But do you mind if I share my shampoo with Trooper? He’s much stinkier than I am! Ammo the Dachshund

Hello Dolly – Dog Approved DIY Doll Beds

Hello Dolly // DIY Doll Bed - dog approved // Ammo the Dachshund

Did I ever tell you that I live with a crafty bunch of people? Oh yes, so when it came time to get a birthday gift for my cousin Maddie, we didn’t just go to the store to buy something, no we strapped on our tool belts and made a doll bed! Ok well Dad strapped on his tool belt, but I knew just what to do when the doll bed was ready.

So since my Dad made a super sweet bed for my cousin’s doll, I figured the least I could do was make sure it passed the rigorous doll bed test. Incase you need to put a doll bed to the test too, here’s my guidelines for dog approved doll accessories.

Ammo’s Doll Bed Testing Guidelines

Test 1 – The Jumping Test: No doll bed is doll ready unless it can pass the jumping on the bed test. So put your paws to work and get to jumping on that bed! This one gets an A++ for jumpiness!

Test 2 – The Prayer Test: We all know that dolls have to say their prayers before bed, so get your prayers ready! I prayed for more cookies – although mom says I may have mixed up praying and wishes, but regardless the doll bed passed!

Test 3 – The Stretching Test: Make sure there is enough room on your doll bed for stretching out. If your sausage body can’t fit than you can bet miss dolly won’t either. Plenty of room here for my hot dog!

Test 4 – The Monsters Under the Bed Test: And the final and most important step in doll bed testing is to make sure there aren’t any monsters under the bed. I checked, and thank goodness Dad built a monster free bed.

Well, it looks like my cousin’s doll bed passed the test and now it’s ready for lots of dolly activities. I really hope I can come over for slumber parties! Especially if there’s popcorn. Ammo the Dachshund

Product Review: SafetyGlo Harness for Dogs from Chewy.com

Disclaimer: This review is brought to you by Chewy.

When my friends over at Chewy.com, formally known as Mr. Chewy (they dropped the formality because we’re all friends here), contacted me about the new SafetyGlo products they are carrying on their site – I just knew I had to take them for a whirl.

Safetyglo Harness Product Review from Chewy.com via Ammo the Dachshund

The SafetyGlo products are the only ones on the market that are solar and usb chargeable. They emit a glowing light that is visible from over 500 yards away.

Perfect for keeping your pet safe on late night walks, visible at night in the back yard, and if you’re like me….on the family farm.

But before I could take the SafetyGlo harness for a spin, I had to charge it up! The easily detachable charging unit comes with a small USB cable that can be plugged into your computer for charging. Alternatively you can leave it to charge out in the sun – or simply place it on your dog while they are outside during the day and let the sun do it’s magic.

Once charged, the SafetyGlo unit easily snaps & velcros to the back of the harness.

There is also a handy on and off switch on the charger – so during the day you can switch it off.

And at night you can let it Glo!

Of course the true test is always the farm dog test….so I harnessed up and prepared to romp around the farm in my new SafetyGlo Harness.

Farmdog approved!

I’m wearing the medium SafetyGlo Harness, which fits me snuggly like a glove – it seems the sizes might run a little small, so when ordering maybe order a size up if you are unsure.

You can fetch your own SafteyGlo Products from $5.99 – $24.99 at Chewy.com!

Friday Fetch: The Cool Puppy Harness

the cool puppy harnessBeing a small dog I’m always on the lookout for cool harnesses that work well with my short legs. Also I’m a bit picky and don’t like having straps between my front legs – which somewhat limits my harness finds.

Recently I stumbled upon The Cool Puppy on Etsy, which carries a line of dog collars and leather harnesses for dogs that gives us doggies freedom of movement!

They are made of 100% leather and boast being both comfortable and durable for your dog.

You can fetch your own Harnesses and Collars at The Cool Puppy.

Pink is for Boys?

If you follow me on Facebook, than you might already know that recently I picked up a special little item for Trooper to use during our performance this weekend at the Keystone Dachshund Races.

That item? A SUPER girly tutu fit for any princess.

Trooper wasn’t as thrilled about it as I am – and lets just say he refused to do some of his tricks during practice. So I did what any Super friend would do….

I put on the tutu!

I guess Trooper’s not as secure in his manliness like I am. And even though I am a boy, I look dang good in this tutu.

And if the rumors are true, than Princesses get whatever they want, right? Well this Prince-ss wants a new rawhide, and perhaps a couple of toy trucks. You know, just to balance things out a bit.

P.S. Trooper, quit being a girl & wear the tutu!
