No Big Woof

No Big Woof

Just yesterday mom snapped this photo of me while Dad was working on a project at the shop. Some may be surprised that I was able to nap through a power drill right by my bed, but there is a really good reason as to why this sort of thing doesn’t bother me. See, my mom and dad are artists and DIYers, which means that power tools are pretty much NO BIG WOOF to me anymore.

Pet Friendly Kitchen Renovation via Ammo the Dachshund

I made it through an entire Kitchen remodel in 2015.

Ammo the Dachshund // The Building of a Farmhouse

I helped with excavation on the farm.

Ammo the Dachshund // Post and Beam House Construction

I helped Trooper with his post and beam house in 2012.

I helped lay radiant flooring.

And on my VERY first day with my new family I helped build fencing.

So yup, power tools are NO BIG WOOF.

Now vacuum cleaners ….that’s a whole other story. Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Scary Things

halloween dog

Seeing as tomorrow is Halloween I thought it would be fun to compile a list of 5 things that give me the heebie jeebies, and just totally make me want to hide under the bed!

Ammo’s List of Scary Things!

The Dog Pack // Ammo the Dachshund

1. Over Zealous Big Dogs

It’s true, I get a little un-nerved when Big Dogs think I’m their own personal squeaky toy. It’s tough being a small dog, and sometimes certain big dogs don’t give you any respect (my pal Trooper is exempt from this category as he’s really just a big softie). But I’m always quick to remind those bigger dogs that I’m NOBODY’S SQUEAKY TOY!

2. Vet’s Office

It’s not the vet I dislike, it’s just the actual office. It smells like other dogs, shots, and scary things. I totally get the shakes every time I go. Honestly, do you blame me though……I lost my manhood in that place!

Ammo and the Fly

3. Flies

I don’t know what it is about that tiny little buzzing creature that strikes fear in me, but if one of those flies finds it’s way inside I spend the entire day cowering in the corner as mom runs around trying to swat it for me.

4. Campfires

Even though I love to go camping, the smell of campfires and smoke are not something I’m very fond of. Call it natural instinct, call it paranoia – it doesn’t even have to be a campfire, just the smell of something smoking is enough to strike fear in me! I’ve even been known to hide in the bathtub if mom or dad burn dinner (well mostly dad!).

“What’s that sound”?

5. Gun Shots

As ironic as it is (considering my name is Ammo), the sound of a far-off gun shot on the farm is enough to send me screaming for my mom! Better safe than sorry I say!

Death Trap

Do you blame me for being scared?

That thing is totally out to get me.

Stop looking at me scary machine.

Thank goodness I made it out alive. Until next time scary machine, until next time.

P.S. Don’t worry I’m not sick, I just had to get my annual vet check-up. And I’m as healthy as a horse! Dr. said I’m ready for another year of adventures!

Don’t forget….

Today my online shop will be having a CYBER MONDAY SALE from 5AM to 12AM on Tuesday! All items are 10% off.

As a bonus, use the coupon code CYBERSALE10 at checkout to receive an additional 10% off!

Spooky Fun Part 1

On Saturday a box of strange stuff showed up at the farm. My pony friends were pretty curious to find out what it was.

Blitz and Boomerang inspected the contents pretty thoroughly – finding nothing edible among the bunch. But then I found something that caught my eye!

Dad told me it was a Halloween mask – and that to get the full effect, someone had to wear it.

Naturally I was first to volunteer.

Do I look scary?

But, unfortunately I couldn’t see myself in it – so Dad gave it a whirl too.

Hey, you look kinda cool!

Oooh I’m sooooo scared!

Catch me if you can scary goblin!

Ok, that’s enough….my turn to wear it again.

no really……it’s my turn!

If you can’t tell…..I won the tug-o-war battle in the end.

Stay tuned tomorrow to find out just what the box of Halloween goodies was for! (well aside from just being fun to play with for a little Dachshund like me). Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Arch Nemesis

I’m a pretty tough dude. I hunt rodents, perform tricks with ponies, guard the house from intruders, and bravely stare danger in the face. But there is one thing that frightens me! ….

..Vacuums!

They make scary noises, the suck things up (perhaps little Dachshunds too), and they just give me the heebie-jeevies. Do you blame me? Me and the vacuum don’t have any horrible incidents in our past, so I’m not sure why I hate him so much. Perhaps it’s because my bestest pal Trooper is afraid of vacuums. I think for now I’ll just have to blame my fear on him!
