My Happy Park Dog Birth Certificate Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer : This is a sponsored post and giveaway brought to you by My Happy Park.

In my house I’m treated just like any other member of the family, and my mom and dad care for me just like they would any human child (with the exception that I have to do my business outside….what’s up with that?).

So when my new friends over at My Happy Park offered to send me one of their dog birth certificates I thought to myself….I should have had one of these a long time ago!

Since my birthdate is known I decided to choose one of My Happy Park’s Birth Certificates in the Stormy Monday design.

Once it arrived I couldn’t help but get straight to work picking out some great matting and frames to display it in, on account that I work at the best frame shop in town!

My Birth Certificate showed my name, birth location & date, breed, birthstone, zodiac sign, flower, as well as a few dachshund characteristics and hobbies & interests.

After spending some time helping mom to pick out the perfect matting and frame, a few weeks later my Birth Certificate was ready to hang on the wall!

Thanks for celebrating my Birthday with me! Make sure you stop by all week long to see what else I have in store! Ammo the Dachshund

Adventures in Graphic Design

My average week consists of a 5 day work week – in which I greet customers most of the day at my mom’s custom frame shop. But with mom gone all last week I found myself actually missing work!

Adventures in Graphic Design // Ammo the Dachshund goes to Work

So Dad offered me up the chance to go to work with him – and try my paw at being a graphic designer just like my dad!

I arrived at work early, and was excited to see if they had set me up with a window office.

Unfortunately they must not have known how important I am, because my “office” was a spot on the floor – hardly conducive to working on graphic design! Humph!

I took a tour around the office, and then it was time to get down to business.

I helped dad with some of his work, but quickly grew bored of staring at a computer screen. Somehow the job sounded much more glamorous than I thought – or at least I was hoping we would be designing something I was interested in – like dog food ads!

So I took the rest of the afternoon off and parked myself by the front door – waiting for customers to come just like I do at mom’s shop.

Unfortunately dad’s office does not have the same sort of traffic flow as mom’s retail business – so my “happy to meet you tail wag” didn’t get much use.

That’s ok though, because I used all the free time I had to “clean” the kitchen before lunch for all of the hard-working employees. I’m pretty sure it was much appreciated!

I had fun with dad at work, but I think I’d much rather greet customer’s at mom’s shop all day – sorry dad! But it’s good to be needed, no matter where I work! Ammo the Dachshund

Take Your Dog to Work Day

This past Friday was Take Your Dog to Work Day, but for me it was no different than any other day, because I work most days with my mom in her custom frame shop.

But, I decided to play the part anyway and instead of my usual sunbathing by the front door I threw on my glasses and helped mom with the picture framing.

Choosing picture frames is no easy task, but it’s a good thing I have a great eye for design!

I picked out some colorful mouldings that would look super awesome on one of my Dream Big Prints.

I must admit, I worked pretty darn hard and I’m pretty sure I should get a raise. Please add 4 more cookies to my daily wages mom! Ammo the Dachshund

A Dachshund’s Art Gallery

Since I was just a wee pup I was instilled with a love of the arts. Not only do I paint myself, but I live with some super talented Painting Ponies! And while you might think having animal artists in the family is quite a feat, my mom and dad are no stranger to the arts themselves. My dad is a graphic designer (who spends his free time designing posters that you can purchase HERE) and my mom is a picture framer (check out the shop where I work HERE).

With a love of art spreading across my family, it’s no wonder that my home has turned into an art gallery of sorts. I thought it would be fun to take you for a tour around my home and show you some of the latest and greatest artistic treasures that are currently making my home just a bit more cheerful!

When I attended the Spring Doxie Fest this year I picked up a happy little Dachshund print from artist, Debbie Sampson. Of course mom framed him up in a happy yellow frame that makes him extra cheerful!

Back in November mom picked up this cute little dachshund print from Kim at Yellow Brick Home. He kind of has an uncanny resemblance to yours truly.

This happy horse head was a Christmas gift to my mom and came from White Faux Taxidermy – and not to worry, he’s completely made of resin (no real taxidermy horses here).

Of course the ceramic dachshund my mom found at Home Goods last year keeps Mr. Fake Pony company in my office, because everything is better with the buddy system.

These two pieces arrived around Christmas time. One being a rendering of my home by the talented Rebekkah Seale and the other a very special original painting of cows done by the ever amazing Janis Fitch.

Those cows just remind me of how lucky I am to have grown up in farm country, where the smell of cattle and horses are just a few steps out my backdoor. Not to mention those yummy cow pies!

And the last little art trinket is one that just makes me giggle – this sweet little screen printed squirrel from the Land of Nod (meant to be an ornament) is happily hanging on my cork board in the living room. He may not nibble on acorns in real life, but he reminds me that there are plenty of critters just out my back door begging to be chased. Happy Hunting!

With all these artists and artistic pieces in my home it’s no wonder that I spend most of my life with a camera in my face. Of course I like to think that I’ll always be mom and dad’s number one muse!

I’m always on the lookout for new artists and art to add to my “gallery”, so I’d love to hear which ones you are admiring currently! Post your links in the comments so we can all check out some amazing art together! Yay for artists!
