Charlie Be Good Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer: This product review & giveaway is sponsored by Charlie Be Good.

Charlie Be Good is one of those dog accessory companies you can’t help but fall in love with. Their adorable handmade bow ties, dog duvet covers, collar, and leashes are so fun you’re going to want them all!

A few months ago I got to test out some Charlie Be Good products myself, and as you may remember I even took one of their striped bow ties with me when I vacationed in Charleston, South Carolina.

Road Trip with Ammo - Dog Friendly Downtown Charleston, South Carolina

My Charlie Be Good bow tie was the perfect thing to wear for my southern gentleman photoshoot, and when I strutted my stuff in downtown Charleston I got so many compliments! The great thing about these bow ties is that they velcro on to any collar you already own.

I also got to test out one of their tweed and turquoise duvet covers. I tossed the cover on a dog bed I already owned and immediately was in love.

The fabric was so soft that I thought I might just lay down and rest my eyes for a second.

5 Minute No Sew DIY Easter Bowtie for your Pet

You all know I love a good DIY project, and when it takes less then 5 minutes and requires no sewing (for my mom who is not so handy with a needle and thread) it’s just an added bonus!

5 Minute No Sew DIY Easter Bowtie for your Dog // Ammo the Dachshund

So for Easter this year my mom helped me whip up some quick DIY Bowties that I can wear when all my family comes to visit on Sunday. They’re so fun and easy to make that I can’t even decide which one to wear!

What you need:

  • Scissors or Rotary cutter
  • Ruler
  • Fabric
  • Iron (optional)

Step 1: Cut a long rectangular piece of fabric (Mom cut mine 5″ x 19″ to make my small bow tie). The longer and wider you make your rectangle the bigger your bow tie will be. You will also want to cut a thinner strip of fabric, mine was 2″ x 19″, to be used later.

Step 2: Using your large rectangular piece of fabric fold in the edges. You can use an iron to crease the folds if need be.

Step 3: Next fold your ends towards the center so that they just overlap where the center mark would be.

Step 4: Fold the entire piece of fabric in half.

Step 5: With the front of your bowtie facing you, crease it into 3 even pleats. Then place a clothespin on it to hold it in place while you move to the next step.

Step 6: Using the small strip of fabric you cut, fold in the edges.

Step 7: Wrap the thin strip of fabric around your bowtie and tie in a double knot in the back.

Step 8: Tie your Bowtie around one of your dogs collars, trimming any excess fabric if need be.

You’re now ready for an Easter Party!

Ammo’s Oscar Recap

The stars, the lights, the cameras, and the red carpet – The Oscars was on last night – and of course I was in attendance. Ok well sort of (from my couch at least), but that’s the very best seat in the house anyway.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

Just because I didn’t get to walk the actual red carpet doesn’t mean I didn’t dress the part.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

I wore the always fashionable Silly Buddy Bowtie – and even had a chance to get a little primping done.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

I got my hair did!

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

Admittedly my hair dresser isn’t quite up on the most fashionable trends, but I rocked that mullet anyway.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

The oscars provided me with a full night of entertainment as I got down with all the singing & dancing.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

It’s almost as if I was actually there!

I also had my eyes peeled all night for one of my celebrity pals, Crusoe (you may remember that we both dressed up as Wile E. Coyote this past year for Halloween).

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

Crusoe apparently won an Oscar (meyer-weiner) for Best Celebrity Dog (hello, where was my nomination?) – but since the Academy Awards went on well past my bed time I just couldn’t stay awake to see his acceptance speech.

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund

I’m sure he just rambled off a list of thank yous that included his squeaky toys and celebrity stylists – so I gather I probably didn’t miss much. *wink*

Even though I didn’t catch an actual glimpse of Crusoe on the red carpet, I have my own speculations as to why Kristen Stewart walked the carpet with crutches (run-in with a shorter than average celebrity??? hummmm Crusoe?). We may never know for sure!

Oscars Recap // Ammo the Dachshund - Kristen Stewart on Crutches

Next year I hope to be out on the red carpet myself – and I’ve already started planning my outfit! I’m thinking a neon yellow tux would really make me jump out in the crowd!

So what about you, what was your favorite part of the oscars this year?

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s Turkey Day here in the states! And you know what that means….Turkey!

Last week I asked my Facebook fans what I should wear for my Thanksgiving Day feast, and I got some great suggestions. I figured it was a pretty safe bet that my bow tie would be a Turkey-Day hit.

It’s dressy, but not too dressy that I can’t still run around outside and wrestle with my bestest buddy Trooper.

But I just know as we approach “meal time” that my Turkey-Day bow tie just won’t cut it.

Which is exactly why I packed my stretchy pants this year!

With all those goodies around today I’m extra glad I’ll have a bit more room around the waist.

I’m one smart cookie!

So before I scamper off to have some fun with my family I wanted to say…… I’m thankful for each and every one of you! Knowing that I can brighten your day with my adventures is seriously they highlight of my day. Thanks for taking the time to read, leave me comments, and generally just give a dog the warm fuzzies inside.

So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
