The Princess’ Castle

It’s come to my attention that I never properly shared my new little sidekick’s bedroom. After all, it took mom and I a really long time to get it just right.

The Princess' Castle

So come on in, and welcome to the Princess’ Castle!

The Princess' Castle

This is the room where my sister’s dog crate resides. I still haven’t figured out why she hasn’t jumped out of it yet!

The Princess' Castle

Although I’m pretty sure it won’t be long before she breaks out of her crate at night, because the artwork above her is totally accurate. I’m also fairly confident in saying that she’s so fierce that her “bark” might even be louder than mine!

The Princess' Castle

Even if she does break out though, I’ll be right here waiting.

The Princess' Castle

Waiting to make sure she doesn’t touch my toys, or my dog bowl, or my favorite pillow on the couch.

The Princess' Castle

Yup, that’s definitely the face of a little sister that’s going to escape her dog crate. I knew it.

The Princess' Castle

Looks like we won’t be getting any sleep again tonight pony.

So what did you think of my little sister’s castle? Do you think she’ll like how I decorated it (as you may notice there are MANY pictures of the one and only me in her bedroom)! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

My Spring To-Do List

With Spring just around the corner (it’s in the 70’s today…that’s crazy!) I realized I better get  to work creating my Spring To-Do List. Because there is soooo much to do to be ready for Spring.

Ammo’s Spring To-Do List:

Ammo the Dachshund's Vegetable Garden

#1: Get dirt for mom’s vegetable garden. I never pass up the opportunity to play in a big pile of dirt. Bonus if its from the mushroom farm, because then I know it’s extra stinky.

Gardening with Ammo the Dachshund

#2: Help Dad rebuild the ramp to my shed. Which basically means that I get to take some more trips to my favorite hardware store…yippee!

Gardening with Ammo the Dachshund

#3: Help mom pick out plants for the vegetable garden. This time I’m hoping she plants corn, because that’s my favorite!

#4: Locate all the new critter holes around my home, so I’ll know just where to dig when the warm weather hits.

Frolicking on the Farm // Ammo the Dachshund

#5: Help out with maintenance around the farm. (Also know as digging holes for fence posts)

ammo and trooper digging hole

#6: Widen all the openings to the ground hog holes on the farm (after hibernation I’m sure those ground hogs are gonna be extra fat and extra stuck)

Stink Happens // Dirty Dog // Ammo the Dachshund

#7: Roll in the stinkiest stuff I can find. Because when Spring hits I want to be able to blend right into my surroundings.

ammo the dachshund morning on the farm

#8: Scratch my back in the grass. It’s just not the same in the winter!

ammo the dachshund university of delaware graduation party

#9: Take a nap outside WITHOUT a coat on!

Spring Bath // Ammo the Dachshund

#10: Rub my after-bath fur all over the house. Because after all those dirt related things I’m sure mom is going to make me take a bath!

Ode to My Mailman

Ode to My Mailman

I wonder what it’s like to be a mailman,
To carry all that mail.
I bet I’d look sweet in that uniform,
Even with my furry tail.

I probably wouldn’t want to go outside in bad weather,
So I might not be so great at delivering a letter.
And I’d much rather wait for the mail anyway,
Because my mailman does it so much better!

Pop’n Tags at the Thrift Store

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

Just like my boy Macklemore my mom has been hitting up the local thrift store with only 20 dollars in her pocket in search of some hidden gems.

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

She’s been coming home from the local Goodwill with all kinds of cool finds for my sister. Those dog pjs are super cute I have to admit. Honestly though, I was starting to feel a little left out.

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

I probably shouldn’t have spoke too soon, because before I knew it mom had popped two dog hats out of her bag that she had picked up just for me. Sigh, I knew where this was going….

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

Yup, before I could bark in protest it was a full blown dress-up session!

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

Eh, who am I kidding. I totally love to play dress-up….especially since I look so awesome in this hat!

Pop'n Tags at the Thrift Store

I might not look as cool in this one, but at least my head will be warm the next time it snows! (And yes, I’m rooting for snow at least once more this winter, because otherwise I won’t get to try out my new sled!)

I’m pretty sure Baby P is chomping at the bit to play Dress-up with me. Soon, very soon, and in the meantime I’m more than happy to practice in my ninety-nine cent hat! And in the words of Macklemore….

Heigh-Ho Heigh-Ho

The Big Secret Ammo the Dachshund's Been Hiding

Now that I’m the coolest big brother ever, it’s come to my attention that to be EVEN cooler (if that’s even possible), that I need to practice my “nursery rhymes”. My sister likes when I “sing” to her, and she likes it even more when I dig holes. Well, this is perfect, because I have just the song to sing her in preparation of Spring (aka Groundhog season).

These Paws were Made for Digging // Ammo the Dachshund

Heigh-Ho
A “Cooler” Version by Ammo

I dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in my hole the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what I really like to do
It ain’t no trick to get groundhogs quick
If you dig dig dig with a paw or a pick
In a hole! In a hole! In a hole! In a hole!
Where a million groundhogs live!
I dig dig dig dig dig dig dig from early morn till night
I dig dig dig dig dig dig dig up everything in sight
I dig up groundhogs by the score
A thousand critters, sometimes more
But I don’t know what I dig ’em for
I dig dig dig a-dig dig
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho

Much better than the original song, right?

And don’t worry, if I ever get tired of digging, I can bring in reinforcements. Happy Digging! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 6

I can hardly believe that it’s been 1/2 a year since Baby P was born! She’s growing up much too fast!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: vol. 6

While she’s now sitting up and eating real foods, and even attempting to crawl a little….there are some things that haven’t changed one bit…

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: vol. 6

…and that’s her love for her favorite puppy in the whole wide world, me! (She’s not even embarrassed to kiss me in front of the camera!) In fact she loves me so much that everytime she sees me I get greeted with a high pitched excited squeal. That or maybe she thinks my name is Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: vol. 6

We’re both already planning all of our Spring and Summer adventures…especially once she starts walking and I can show her all of my favorite groundhog holes. So much to do, so little time.

Happy 6 months Baby P! I’m so glad I get to be by your side while you grow up! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Bear-y Fun Adventures

Bear-y Fun Adventure

You might remember that not long ago I was anxiously awaiting my sister’s arrival. Even more so because my lovely friend Suzanne had made me and my sister some lovely crochet items.

Well the time has finally come, and my sister can wear them with me!!

Bear-y Fun Adventure

As you can see, Baby P was very excited that we were going to get to play DRESS UP. Something tells me there will be a lot of dress up games in my future.

Bear-y Fun Adventure

That’s ok though, because anything that makes Baby P smile this much is totally worth it!

Bear-y Fun Adventure

So from Cowgirls…

….to Goldilocks ….I’m ready for all of it!

And if there is a “Best Dog of the Year Award”, I’m pretty sure I deserve it. I guess I’ll also accept belly rubs, cookies, and weekend hikes as recognition too. You’re welcome Baby P.

What do you think Baby P and I should dress up as next?

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 5

Time seems to be moving much too quickly, because Baby P is now 5 months old! Can you believe it?

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 5

So much has changed since Little P first arrived home, and now she’s drooling and attempting to eat pretty much anything she can get her hands on. I’m so proud, I taught her well.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 5

She’s really taken a liking to me (what’s not to like, I’m the coolest dog ever), and I’m really starting to enjoy her giggly happy squeals when she sees me. In fact, I even get to claim credit for Baby P’s first TRUE belly laugh!

Don’t grow up too fast Baby P, I still have lots of things about the World to teach you!

Christmas Memories

Christmas Memories

Well, Christmas at my house came and went, and it was a fantastic whirlwind of wrapping paper, family and plenty of fun! And since I know you don’t want to feel like you missed the fun, I decided to share a recap of all my adventures.

Christmas Memories

This year of course was extra special because I got to share my Christmas morning with my new little sister, Baby P.

Christmas Memories

I helped her open all her presents from Santa, and explained to her why we aren’t supposed to be super excited when we get socks in our stocking. (although I’m pretty sure that lecture when right over her head!)

Christmas Memories

And then I helped Baby P open a very interesting present….

Christmas Memories

….it was another me!!!

I wasn’t really sure how I felt about it at first. I mean was Santa trying to replace me?

Christmas Memories

But as the day went on I realized he wasn’t all that bad. I mean after all we now out number the babies in this house….which means when it comes to take a vote on whether we go to shopping at Petco vs. Babies R’ Us me and my little sidekick here will win every time!

Christmas Memories

Christmas morning at my house was full of wonderful memories. And in case you are wondering, yes, I got lots of presents from Santa!

Christmas Memories

Christmas didn’t end there though, because my family and I were off to celebrate with all of our extended family. We ate, exchanged gifts, and created even more memories.

Christmas Memories

And when my cousins got into town, you know things got crazy!

Christmas Memories

And that my friends, is another Christmas come and gone! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

What about you? What was your favorite Christmas memory this year?

You Don’t Need a Tissue When you have a Dog

You Don't Need a Tissue when you have a dog

From day 1 my sister has been infatuated with me. It’s probably my stunning good looks, and my spitfire personality that does it, or perhaps I guess it might be because I look like a giant stuffed animal.

You Don't Need a Tissue when you have a dog

And I’ve loved her from the start too, maybe because she looks like a big stuffed animal sometimes too!

Whatever the case may be, we’re both thick as thieves. So when my sister needs something, I’m going to be there for her. In this case it was a tissue…..and I was more than happy to oblige….

I just hope you repay the favor someday Baby P! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity
