Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

Now you might remember that several months ago my pal Trooper and I took the Sleepypod Clickit, the top rated pet car safety restraint on the market, for a test ride. Well this time I’m going to share with you the brand-new Sleepypod Clickit SPORT.

Clickit Sport is Sleepypod’s next generation dog safety harness. Their new design makes it light and easy to use, without sacrificing safety. It’s also easy to put on your dog with a simple step in design.

A patent pending Infinity Loop design eliminates the need for strength-rated, steel hardware. This, in combination with a padded vest, work together to distribute and reduce damaging forces that can cause injury. Less hardware means Clickit Sport is even easier to connect and quicker to release – and all you need to connect your pet to the car is a seatbelt.

So with our new Sleepypod Clickit Sport Harnesses Trooper and I were excited to take it for a test ride.

Trooper, being the bigger dog that he is, loves riding on the backseat of the car – so with the Clickit Sport he easily snapped into his restraint. Since I’m a bit smaller, and have trouble seeing out the window – I prefer to ride in a booster seat. And while Sleepypod doesn’t recommend using their harnesses in any other way than they are designed (for the safest possible ride), I did come up with a little modification that made it just as easy for me to still ride in my booster.

I simply snapped a spare collar through the Infinity loops on the Clickit Sport and then attached the collar to my seatbelt tether.

Check out how Trooper and I enjoyed our first ride….

Trooper and I love the new Sleepypod Clickit Sport, and the great news is at $69.99 it’s a more affordable pet restraint option with all the safety benefits. You can fetch one for your pet from Sleepypod!

The Clickit Sport is the first and only dog harness in the industry to be certified by the Independent Pet Safety Research Institution, the Center For Pet Safety. So you can feel good knowing your pet is as safe as can be in the car!

And now for the best part….

Friday Fetch: Clickit 3 Point Safety Harness for Dogs

Most of you know that I’m all about safety. I wear a seatbelt in the car and have used the k9carfence, I wear a life vest when on the water, and I even wear a stunt helmet when performing tricks! So when I came across this new safety harness for dogs from Sleepypod I was intrigued.

Clickit is the first dog safety harness to incorporate three-points of attachment to absorb force in a frontal collision by dissipating energy and keeping the dog in the car seat during an impact. Clickit can also be used in the cargo area and includes a d-ring on the back of the vest so it can be used as a walking harness.

Check it out for yourself in this crash test:
