Clean Plate Club

Clean Plate Club // Kitchen Remodel // Ammo the Dachshund

You may recall my shopping trip a few weeks ago with mom and dad to pick out a new dishwasher for my kitchen. Well, fast forward to this past weekend and my dish washing replacement finally arrived!

According to mom and dad this is the year of the new kitchen……which by my best guess will take probably about a year to complete at the pace my parents go! But who’s rushing. And since the dishwasher has been leaking all over the floor I guess it was the very first thing to get the big boot.

While mom and dad seemed excited to have a new appliance (the first one ever!) I on the other hand found myself sulking that it was here.

Not only did it come with a whole new set of rules for me (no more standing on the dishwasher door to lick plates to name a few), but it didn’t even smell like anything great, like cookies, bacon, or peanut butter!

Dad got right to work installing the new dishwasher, while I looked on with distain.

The only real fun thing I can say about the new appliance is that the packaging made for a little entertainment. Although it would of been more fun if mom had let me shred it to bits!

Before my new dishwasher was completely installed I tried my hardest one last time to convince mom and dad that the only thing they needed for clean plates was me! Trust me, I can do the job better than any fancy dishwasher.

But alas, the thing got installed anyway. Sigh. I guess you win some and you lose some. Ammo the Dachshund

Afternoon Nap

Sometimes I like to find a nice sunny spot to dose in for an enjoyable afternoon nap.

Afternoon naps are simply the best, but as I slowly begin to awake….

…I come face to face with the lens of a camera!

Frankly it’s a bit creepy!

And I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather awake to a big bowl of dog cookies! Ammo the Dachshund

Adventures in Home Improvement

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Over the weekend I took a trip with my family to my favorite dog friendly home improvement store.

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

As with many trips to the home improvement store, I wouldn’t exactly call it thrilling.

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Shopping for all the things necessary for a future kitchen remodel at my house is enough to bore a dog to sleep (as if my big yawn wasn’t clue enough).

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Eventually I convinced mom and dad that if they let me out of the cart our trip would be much easier – since I’m great at sniffing out deals!

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Little did I know that once out of the cart mom would make me practice my sit/stays and healing. I guess a working dog’s work is never done!

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Eventually we made our way over to the kitchen appliances and I was ecstatic to see that the new trend in fridges were easy to reach and easy to open – perfect for little dogs with short little legs!

Adventures in Home Improvement // Ammo the Dachshund

Despite my desperate pleas that we must upgrade our fridge to one of these, mom and dad said I have to save a lot more pennies before we can afford to buy one of them. Darn! Just when I had figured out where I plan to store all my hot dogs. At least a dog can dream.

What we did come home with was a new dishwasher (on account of mine has been leaking all over the floor….and mom and dad got tired of chasing me around the house after the towels that were supposed to be keeping the floor dry….hehe).

Although honestly I don’t see the point, considering I’m the absolute best dishwasher they are ever going to find!Ammo the Dachshund

Does your dog think he’s an expert dishwasher too?

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub, Weenie in a Tub

When you spend a lot of your time on a horse farm it’s inevitable that you’ll find yourself in the tub more often than not.

Bath time rituals become pretty common for me as I’m used to hearing things around the house like “what’s that smell?”, “what did you roll in this time?”, or my favorite “The smell is horrible!”.

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub, Weenie in a Tub // Ammo the Dachshund

While my patented weenie stench is not something all members of my household enjoy (what do you mean you don’t like the smell of soggy worms and horse poop?), I can say that sometimes I do enjoy the benefits of a good bath.

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub, Weenie in a Tub // Ammo the Dachshund

Not only does my after bath aroma warrant extra cuddles and the praises of “you’re so soft” and “you smell like sunshine”, but…

….I find that afterwards my pleading eyes for more cookies mom, are almost always met with – “of course you can have another cookie, because you’re so clean and sweet!”

Stink Happens // Dirty Dog // Ammo the Dachshund

Guess I’ll just have to start stinking up the place a little more often if I want those after bath cookiesAmmo the Dachshund

What’s the worst thing your dog has ever rolled in?

Rainy Afternoon

Rainy Afternoon // Ammo the Dachshund

It’s that time of year when many an afternoon is spent peering out the window watching the rain fall.

Rainy Afternoon // Ammo the Dachshund

I guess the rain is good for the plants (my garden included), but sometimes all I want to do is go outside and play.

It can be hard waiting for the sun to reappear, and I must admit sometimes my patience runs thin.

But, like most things, waiting makes it that much more enjoyable when it’s finally time to go back outside to play! Ammo the Dachshund

Peach Blossoms

The peach blossoms in my backyard are starting to bloom.

And when the peach blossoms start to bloom, the bunnies start to come out and play.

Peach Blossoms // Ammo the Dachshund

And when the bunnies start to come out to play there are lots of smells in my backyard.

And when there are lots of smells in my backyard I start to dig, and dig, and dig, and dig some more.

And I’m pretty sure what comes next in this story involves me in a bathtub with lots of soap. Welcome to Spring! Ammo the Dachshund

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

As with every spring’s arrival I am always anxiously awaiting the visit from a special bunny to my house!

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

This year was special because I got a visit from the Barkbox Bunny! While I was sleeping on Easter Eve the Barkbox bunny delivered my monthly box of goodies so that I would have something to open on Easter morning!

Mom made me wait until my cousins and Trooper came over on Easter to open it, and I happily shared all my treats with the ones I love.

My April Barkbox was filled with lots of goodies fit for an outdoor adventure. How did they know that I love adventures!?

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

I went to town right away gnawing in my Barkworthies bully stick (one of my favorites).

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

I also enjoyed the Mr. Barksmith’s frozen carrot cake smoothie. Those bunnies are so sweet to share their carrots with me!

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

The Quaker Pet Group toy provided hours of entertainment for me on Easter morning and Trooper and I had fun racing around the backyard with it.

My Barkbox also contained a package of Etta Says duck treats and some Complete Natural Nutrition grain-free campfire treats. Can you say yum!

While I hear the “Barkbox Bunny” is on vacation until next Spring, you can still fetch your pet a Barkbox subscription and save 10% off with code AMMO5 and as a bonus this month Barkbox is donating $1 – $5 from every subscription sold to an animal rescue in need!

After my own easter basket fun it was time to help my human cousins go on their egg hunt.

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

Unfortunately I had to stay on my leash because mom said I would find all the eggs before my cousins got a chance to.

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

Now what fun is an easter egg hunt if you don’t let the dog with the best sniffer do all the hunting?

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

Don’t worry, I still shouted out clues as to where to find them! Those kids would be lost without me!

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

After a good easter meal with family I retired to the basement where I let my cousins dress me up. Apparently they thought it was extra fashionable to wear super hero undies and a buret.

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

Although I’m not quite sure it was as fashionable as they thought after I got all those snickers from Trooper. (maybe he’s just jealous!)

Easter with the Barkbox Bunny // Ammo the Dachshund

I had quite the fabulous Easter and as you can imagine I slept very very well that night.

How did your pup celebrate the Easter holiday?

In a Foggy Backyard

Once upon a time in a foggy back yard there was a tiny little dog with great big digging paws.

He found a scent and dug and dug until his hearts content.

With all that snow he could find holes to dig in for days and days!

Oh and what’s that….there’s something there under the snow….

In a foggy backyard // Ammo the Dachshund

oh yup, that little digging pup found a treasure! Only something tiny little dogs with great big digging paws could uncover. Bunny poop!

And if you want to come over to my foggy back yard I’ll gladly share my digging treasure with all of you! Ammo the Dachshund

My Favorite Spot

My Favorite Spot // Ammo the Dachshund

I bet you have that one favorite spot in your house. The spot where the couch dips in just right and the sun warms your back and you could just nap there for hours. Yeah, I have that spot at my house too.

All that’s missing is someone to hand feed me cookies and massage my back.
