Life Lesson Number One

Now that I’m a big brother it’s my duty to teach Baby P all the important stuff. #1 on the life lesson list, how to dig a proper hole.

Rescue on the Farm

As you can see, Baby P was super excited to learn this life lesson. That’s my girl, she totally gets it. You just never know when you’re going to need to dig something, so always come prepared with those two little shovels on the bottom of your arms!

Dirt filled baths, and dirty finger nails are totally in our future.

Rescue on the Farm

Up next, how to navigate to the critters in the woods. We’ve got a whole lot of life lessons to get through this summer, so we better get started!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

Well it’s happened again, that smiley little sister of mine is another month older. Boy time flies when you’re having fun!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

As you can see we are no longer sitting or laying down for our photos (apparently I’m the only one that can comply to the “sit” command) since Baby P is now cruising everywhere on the furniture and anything she can get her hands on.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

I’m also a bit concerned, because Baby P has sprouted 2 shiny teeth, and if we’re being honest, they are way sharper than mine. Which means she probably will get first dibs on all the good chew bones. Sigh.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

I guess I should be used to it by now, after all, she already steals all my dog toys too. Like this pretzel from my pals at the Barkshop*. (P.S. you can use code AMMO at checkout for a special surprise!)

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

I guess I don’t mind sharing though, because Baby P gets in trouble on a daily basis for continuing to throw food off her high chair for me. She can be very thoughtful like that. Siblings gotta look out for each other, it’s a rule.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 9

Mom says Baby P might be walking pretty soon and that I better learn how to pick up my toys better if I don’t want her to play with ALL of them. Secretly I just hope she breaks every last one so I can get new toys. 😉 A dog can dream.

Happy 9 Months Baby P!

Just for fun, what date do you think Baby P will start walking? Leave me a guess in the comments below, we shall see who gets the closest! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Jail Break

Now that Spring is here my family has moved our activities to outside! I was so excited to show my sister all the fun stuff we can do outdoors, but then something terrible happened.

Jail Break

Baby P got to come outside, but she ended up INSIDE my dog pen!

Jail Break

Neither one of us was thrilled about the whole thing, and honestly I was a bit surprised it was her in the pen and not me. I mean after all she doesn’t eat things she shouldn’t, roll in smelly stuff, chew on sticks, or wander too far…….or wait…….maybe she does actually do some of those things.

Regardless, I devised a plan to free my very best friend….

Jail Break

Jail Break in progress. Don’t tell our mom, and hurry, grab a shovel and help us!

What sort of mischief do you think we should get into once I free P?Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Hop Along

Hop Along - Easter Recap

Ok, so I know the last time I mentioned the Easter Bunny I gave him a really hard time for sneaking into my house at night and leaving chocolate goodies I couldn’t even eat. Not to mention I wasn’t even allowed to bite him or bark at him!

But I guess Mr. Easter Bunny heard me loud and clear, because he really tried to win me over this year.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

Not only did he bring my sister a whole bunch of fun toys (non-chocolate I might add), that I may or may not have opened for her…

Hop Along - Easter Recap

…but he also brought me some fun toys too. He has good taste too, because he shops at my favorite store, The Barkshop*.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

So yeah, that Bunny, I guess he’s not so bad.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

I was actually a little disappointed once my basket was empty. But when one door closes, another opens.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

And that door brought my Nannie & Opa (and my MomMom, PopPop, cousins, aunts and uncles too!), who also brought me presents!!

Hop Along - Easter Recap

I’m one lucky dog!

Hop Along - Easter Recap

My Easter fun didn’t end there though, it was time for the annual egg hunt, and since this year was my sister’s first time I had to teach her how it was done.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

She actually didn’t do too poorly, but it’s probably because she had a pretty awesome teacher.

Hop Along - Easter Recap

Well, that about sums up my Easter, and as you can see Baby P and I are now totally on team Easter Bunny!

Hop Along - Easter Recap

But, just FYI Bunny, Baby P and I won’t hesitate to use stink faces on you should you bring us icky presents next year. 😉

P.S. For once I’m not the one that can’t sit still for a photograph.

Happy Easter from Ammo the Dachshund

Well, it’s almost that time of year again. A day when a giant bunny visits your home in the night and leaves you little chocolatey presents in a basket (that you aren’t even allowed to eat if you’re a dog), and you’re expected not to bite him, chase him, or do anything that you would normally do to a bunny should he come into your home.

Yea, I don’t really get it either.

Happy Easter from Ammo the Dachshund

But, in an effort to humor my mom, and make my little sister happy, I did something that goes against ALL of my instincts as a fierce hunting dog.

Easter Bunny Visit

I sat on the Easter Bunny’s lap at the mall.

Totally embarrassing!

Easter Bunny Visit

I didn’t bite him, but I was definitely not going to smile for my photo either! (Baby P was totally supporting me too and refused to smile as well!)

I hope you’re happy mom, because I’m pretty sure all the critters in my backyard are laughing their tails off!

Happy Easter Everyone! Have you ever taken your dog to visit the Easter Bunny? Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol 8

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 8

Well, another month has passed and suddenly Baby P is 8 months old! My bestest buddy is growing up much too quickly, and already so much has changed in the last month.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 8

With everyday that passes Miss P’s personality comes out more and more. And she definitely takes after her big brother (me), because she’s got a whole lot of sass and spunk!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 8

We’re still thick as thieves, and since Baby P started crawling just after she turned 7 months – we’re both getting into lots of mischief now.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 8

While we both like a lot of the same things (eating, exploring, and chewing on stuff), we do still differ in our love of naps. Miss P can go all day long with only two 30 minute naps, and I still need my 7-8 hour long naps! They might be pushing 9 these days though, because Miss P could run circles around me and she’s oh-so-exhausting.

But that’s ok, because when she’s awake she’s so much fun to play with. She even has a special name for me, “Nano” – pretty soon I’m sure it will sound more like Ammo, but for now Nano it is!

Love you Baby P, can’t wait for even more fun as Mom and Dad say you’re getting closer and closer to walking everyday! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Sharing is Caring

Sharing is Caring

So every time I turn around lately it seems my sister is eating. For someone so tiny she eats so very frequently. Lucky!

Sharing is Caring

I also started to take note that said eating was very very messy.

Sharing is Caring

Now occasionally this messiness would end up on the floor (score!), but most of the time mom whisked it away before I could get so much as a lick. And more often than not it was the icky stuff anyway (you know, the vegetables).

Sharing is Caring

As the weeks passed I decided to take matters into my own paws.

Sharing is Caring

But I guess they call them high chairs for a reason! And I wasn’t really getting that much closer to my end goal.

Sharing is Caring

But then one day, as luck would have it, I noticed a tiny little hand peeking down from the high chair.

Sharing is Caring

My sister was sharing. IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

Baby P, I love you more everyday. xoxo, your best pal and big brother Ammo. Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Winter Storm Stella

Winter Storm Stella

Finally! Yesterday I got to have a true Snow Day! Which means I didn’t have to go to work, and I got to spend the day playing with my family in the snow.

Winter Storm Stella

This was Baby P’s first big snow, and I was so excited to show her exactly what to do on a snow day.

Winter Storm Stella

Winter Storm Stella

We make snow angels on Snow Days.

And we go sledding on Snow Days.

Oh The Places You Sleep: Vol. 7 with Ammo the Dachshund

And we curl up on the couch and wait for mom to make us a warm beverage on snow days!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: vol. 7

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 7

Well, my adorable buddy Miss P is now 7 months old! Don’t let her sweet little smile fool you….

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 7

..she knows how to get EXACTLY what she wants with her little pouty lip. It’s almost better than my sad puppy eyes. Almost.

I’ve taught her well.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 7

In fact, I’ve taught her so well that I think she’s going to start crawling any day now! She’s a smarty pants, just like her big brother!

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 7

Baby P and I are also working on her first word. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be “Ammmmo” but mom is trying to edge me out with “MaMa”. We shall see who wins.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 7

And now we leave you with pouty lips and sad puppy eyes, because Baby P and I want some snacks! Feed us please!

The Princess’ Castle

It’s come to my attention that I never properly shared my new little sidekick’s bedroom. After all, it took mom and I a really long time to get it just right.

The Princess' Castle

So come on in, and welcome to the Princess’ Castle!

The Princess' Castle

This is the room where my sister’s dog crate resides. I still haven’t figured out why she hasn’t jumped out of it yet!

The Princess' Castle

Although I’m pretty sure it won’t be long before she breaks out of her crate at night, because the artwork above her is totally accurate. I’m also fairly confident in saying that she’s so fierce that her “bark” might even be louder than mine!

The Princess' Castle

Even if she does break out though, I’ll be right here waiting.

The Princess' Castle

Waiting to make sure she doesn’t touch my toys, or my dog bowl, or my favorite pillow on the couch.

The Princess' Castle

Yup, that’s definitely the face of a little sister that’s going to escape her dog crate. I knew it.

The Princess' Castle

Looks like we won’t be getting any sleep again tonight pony.

#andsomywatchbegins

So what did you think of my little sister’s castle? Do you think she’ll like how I decorated it (as you may notice there are MANY pictures of the one and only me in her bedroom)! Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity
