April Beach Babes

April Beach Babes

A few weeks ago I went on a fun day trip with my family. We packed up Baby P, Mom, Dad, my Nannie & Opa, my ponies and my best pal Trooper for a day at the beach!

When we got there the ponies set off on a ride along the beach while I stayed behind to help keep an eye on Baby P.

Only little did I know that I would end up tied to a tether in the sand because Dad said “I can’t keep an eye on both roaming munchkins”. (We all know he’s just not as good at multi-tasking as mom) ….Love ya Dad, but it’s true!

Baby P came to my rescue though and tried as hard as she could to free me. Alas, it was just not meant to be this time.

That’s ok though, a beach day is still a beach day and I used the opportunity to get some sun and some R&R.

After my ponies returned from their ride I knew they were ready for something else too…

….a nice relaxing nap in the sand!

Boomerang totally knows how to do a Beach Day if you ask me!

  1. What an exciting day! My son has to have some jaw surgery this summer so I think we’re going to see the Chincoteague ponies (spelling?). He loves horses and I think this would be a fun day for him. You’re right Ammo, moms are much better at multi-tasking than dads!

    • What fun! Tell the ponies I say hi (many of which are my ponies’ relatives as they are Chincoteague Ponies too!)

  2. My dachshund has never been to the beach but if she does go she will bark and chase the crabs. Ammo, we live near you. Can you tell me where a dog friendly beach is in DE or NJ so we can take our Heidi?

    • Fun! This was at Cape Henlopen in Delaware. They have all year round pet friendly beaches on their fishing beaches. The Delaware state park website should have maps to where those areas are. You could also try Cape May in NJ. They have a dedicated dog beach.

  3. Ammo – I thought for sure this post would end with you getting a run in afterall and your ears flying in the wind. Better luck next time. But like you said, a day at the beach is still a day at the beach, which is always glorious! XXXOOO

  4. It looks like a wonderful day. I think that you need a hat to match Baby P’s. That was sweet of Baby P to try to free you. Before long she will be walking. She’s growing up so fast. You are so good with her.

  5. Oh a cay at the beach!! My Gracie and Sunni loved to go. Gracie would sit for hours and watch the waves, but Sunni wanted to be in them. Luckily I have a video of her and her papa playing in the water. Gumbo and Osgar haven’t been to the beach yet.

  6. Ammo, the only thing that I’m sure my babies would do is bark and bark (at least Rio would, lol). They’ve never been to the beach, as a matter of fact, it’s been about 30 years since I’ve been. Looks like your whole family had a great time, even with you being tied up. Maybe soon Baby P will be walking and you’ll be assigned to keep her in tow. Have a great weekend. Love and hugs!!! Pam, Misty, and Rio
