Light Therapy for Pets + A Giveaway

Disclaimer: This post and giveaway is brought to you by LumaSoothe. All opinions are my own, and I only share products I think you and your pets will love.

Light Therapy for Dogs

Trooper and I were recently introduced to something new by our pals at Luma-Tech. See Luma-Tech makes LumaSoothe, a Light Therapy Treatment for Pets. What exactly is that? Well my friends, it’s basically a special light that is used to heal!

Light Therapy for Dogs

LumaSoothe provides pain relief from deep joint & muscle related issues such as arthritis while also treating your pet’s skin & surface conditions such as Wounds, Eczema, and Hair loss. Since I don’t have any of those issues (lucky me right), the logical thing to do was to let my old pal Trooper be the tester on this one. Just look at his sweet old face…he’s perfect (just don’t remind him that he’s really just a year older than me). Trooper does have that worldly old look about him, and he does sadly have arthritis in his elbows, and has for quite some time.

Trooper never lets his arthritis slow him down though (he does have to keep up with me after all), and he lives quite a vigorous life on the farm. Over the years he’s done lots of things to keep himself feeling youthful including joint supplements, so light therapy seemed like a great thing to add to his regime to keep him ready to take on the world.

Trooper’s arthritis comes and goes in the form of a limp, and when he happened to start this light therapy experiment several weeks ago he wasn’t limping at the time.

Every evening before bed Trooper gets a 15 minute session with LumaSoothe. It comes with two different lighted heads on each unit, one for treating deep issues like arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, hip dysplasia, sprains & strains, back pain, deep surgical wounds, and deep muscle soreness – while the other treats surface issues like eczema, chronic pain, promotes hair growth and healthier skin too. Trooper has been testing out the deep treatment light for the past several weeks in the hopes that it will keep his arthritis pain at bay.

I of course was right by his side to lend moral support, and the best news is that Trooper’s limp has not returned the entire time he’s been testing out the LumaSoothe.

In fact, Trooper enjoyed the treatments so much on his joints that he tends to fall asleep during them. I might have been a bit jealous.

Regardless of my jealousy I’m just glad my pal is feeling good.

LumaSoothe triggers cellular stimulation which helps relieve pain, reduce inflammation, increase blood circulation as well as cellular rejuvenation, so if you’re looking for something to help your pet with chronic pain or skin issues, you may want to check it out.

You can see the full list of what LumaSoothe can treat on their website.

And now for the best part….

Ammo – you guys are just too cute. Glad to hear Trooper is not limping. Looks like he makes a great pillow – lol. XXX000

  2. Gia12-19-16

Aww Trooper. I’m glad that you’ve found something to help with the pain. I have miniature dotsons and one thinks she’s a kangaroo and the other super dog and they’ve seem to be having sensitivity with their back legs (no surprise.) I’ve seen a vet who says nothing is wrong but to make sure they try not to hop or jump around too much but they’re still not a year old and they do not make it easy -__-. I’m just so glad I came across this! I’ll keep it in mind for the future. 🙂

  3. Mr Lenny12-19-16

Me and mom can use it…lol..

  4. Pam B12-19-16

Hiya Ammo!!! What a nifty invention. I’ve heard of using sonic waves for pain relief, but this is the first I’ve seen light used. While my babies don’t need it yet, I can see Rio needing it in the future. Simply being part doxie and the way he loves to jump up and down on everything, I can see the problems in the future. So it would be great to have this around for the coming years for him. Thanks so much for having the giveaway. Hugs and love to you, Trooper, and baby P, and the whole family. Love, Pam, Misty, and Rio

  5. Tina12-19-16

Cool invention. My dog could use this for chronic arthritus

  6. Rebecca12-19-16

Ohmigod, the pictures are so cute! My pup is getting older and she still love to jump, so this might help with her joints as well.

  7. Cindy12-19-16

This would be great for my dog!

  8. Anne Baker12-19-16

Does it help back stiffness? Mine gets twinges now and then.

    • Ammo12-21-16

I think every dog will probably respond differently. But chronic pain is one of the things light therapy can help. And certainly the warmth of the light should definitely help relax and comfort your dogs pain.

  9. Liam12-21-16

I had a dog when I was 16 years old that was also in its old age, around 8 to 10 – my parents rescued him – he was an old chap, but I loved him when he was around. I remember he walks quite slowly and most of the time lies down. He lets the other younger pups play around him, and I commend him for his patience.
LumaSoothe sure is a nice product! I wonder if we have this item meant for humans? Would be a great gift for both humans and pets!

    • Ammo12-21-16

They actually do make a similar product for humans!

  10. carol clark12-22-16

id use it on his paw joints right above his paw

  11. Donna B12-22-16

My doxie is 10 1/2 and I think she would enjoy this so much.

  12. Raquel Lei12-23-16

Your such a good buddy Ammo. Right there with Trooper. I see u. You guys rock!

  13. Shelley P12-23-16

I would use LumaSoothe to treat my 17 year old spaniel mix, Kandy, who has arthritis in her hind legs. She is sensitive to pills so this would be a great treatment option.

  14. Margot C12-23-16

I have a senior rescue dog named Monty. He’s about 15 years old they think. We got him about 6 months ago and fixed his teeth, burned off his melanomas (someone had basically just left him in SoCal backyard for a decade). He’s the sweetest most harmless boy, not pretty particularly, not that smart (though who knows how he started out before humans just let him down and abused him). Just a gentle soul. He has stiffness in his back legs and glucosamine helps, but I would like to try this therapy for him. I am home with him and my other rescue, Milo, all day. So, I would have the time to do the therapy.

  15. Susan Biddle12-26-16

I have a 19 year old pug dog with hip displasia. Sh eis too old for surgery. I would love to try this to help her.
