Lately I’ve been a little worried that I might be out of a job soon. One of my favorite jobs too…..security! See my friends over at Vimtag have added some new cameras to their line of affordable home security and monitoring systems. Which essentially means there might not be as much of a need for my super barking skills! The horror!

But you know, I decided to let my pal Trooper share in my pain of being replaced in the security department too. So I sent my new Vimtag M1 Mini Cube Camera to his house for surveillance. I’m so nice like that.

This tiny camera can be mounted to a wall, ceiling, or simply set on a shelf. And even though it’s small, it can record a big area of a room with it’s wide angle lens!

Trooper and I thought we would be getting an “extra pair of eyes” at the farm….only to realize that the mini cube was intended to record us when we were left alone! Gulp. We better be on our best behavior I guess.

Because even when our parents aren’t home to keep an eye on us they can check what we are up to by watching from their smart phone devices with live streaming.

With all kinds of features like motion detection, night vision, two-way voice features, and more the mini cube packs a whole lot into a tiny little camera.

Next it was time to test out the Vimtag P1 Premium IP Wireless Network Camera. With a fancy name like that I decided we should install it at the shop to help me out with my guard dog duties (you know, should I be on break taking one of my daily naps).

This camera can pan and tilt, has motion triggered push notifications, and it even supports multiple users. You can quickly and easily change your camera’s passwords within the mobile app as well as creating guest passwords for other users so that you can keep all your recordings nice and secure.

Since I’m a pretty short fellow I thought it was best to install this camera up high so it could get a view of the things I couldn’t. Mom had no problem installing the mounting bracket that came with the camera to the wall.

With the camera attached, connected to wifi, and plugged into a power source (this camera does require a power cord to run, and doesn’t run on batteries) we were ready to roll!

Mom also decided to hook this camera up to the Vimtag Smart Cloud Box. This handy box connects to your wifi and is able to record and store your surveillance feeds from any of the Vimtag Cameras. With 1TB of space it can hold hours of video, and should your camera ever get stolen you can still access the Cloud Box remotely to download the footage. I love that now even when I’m not at the shop my Vimtag camera can keep an eye on everything!

Should mom ever want to check on what is going on in the shop she can quickly check in via the free Vimtag app on her mobile phone too.

The Vimtag cameras have always been super simple to set-up too (and if I didn’t have clumsy paws I’m sure I could do it myself!). But should you ever need help, their support team is always just a phone call away. Full disclosure, mom did have to call tech support for some issues she was having with this P1 camera after set-up, but their staff was super helpful and was able to help remedy the issue.

I can’t recommend the Vimtag camera systems enough though, they’re super great for all your video monitoring needs wether you want to check on your pets at home, or simply need an extra set of eyes for surveillance (which will give your dog a much needed break!).
