A Holiday Weekend

A Holiday Weekend

Over the 4th of July Weekend mom and I took a little extra time off from working at the shop. I work pretty hard, and it’s nice to take a break sometimes to unwind and have some fun. Of course my family’s idea of fun is squeezing in as many adventures as possible – so I made sure to do a little bit of everything over the weekend!

I kicked things off with a campfire in the backyard. Because it wouldn’t be the 4th without a good old fashioned weenie roast. (don’t worry….actual dachshund wasn’t on the menu)

Then it was time for a Saturday morning breakfast out in town, followed by catching a game of little league baseball. After all I gotta get practicing my team coaching skills for when my little sister gets here and is ready to join a sports team!

Then it was time to celebrate a very special ladies’ 92 Birthday! I loved getting to celebrate my Super MomMom’s B-day with the family.

Family makes everything more fun!

Of course it wouldn’t be a “vacation” if I didn’t do some laps around the farm.

Just enough to warrant a 3 hour nap of course!

I even got to check out a hot air balloon launch. It was pretty cool, but I’m pretty happy just watching from the ground….that fire looked terrifying!

While I’m not a huge fan of fireworks (I alternate between hiding in the basement, and barking my head off at them in anger….can’t make up my mind if I’m scared or just pissed really), I did track down some of “nature’s fireworks” with a sunset trip to the lake. Nothing better.

4th of July was finally here and I couldn’t miss the celebration in town. Good food and family fun, a perfect way to celebrate America!

Then it’s off to the farm again to track down some groundhogs.

Well, and maybe do a farm chore or two too!

And to end the perfect holiday weekend, a cookout of epic proportions….where corn on the cob is necessary for a small dachshund’s survival. (well at least thats what I would have my family think…..and you better not tell them otherwise!)

I’m pretty sure after this weekend I’m going to need to sleep for an entire week. What sort of fun did your pups get into? Any other dogs out there can’t make up their mind about how they feel about fireworks? Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

We are taking down an above ground pool in our back yard. Cocoa and Emmy spent hours smelling and digging in the sand that was under the pool. Must have been smells in there of epic proportions!!!

What a great holiday you had, Ammo. Regarding fireworks: Charlie wished he had a basement to hide in!

Ammo, you sure did pack a lot in over your holiday weekend! Everything looked like so much fun to partake in. I love your blue star collar you wore to celebrate America! Your Super MomMom looks so precious at 92! I loved that picture. My little Sambo starts out barking at the first sound of fireworks and then becomes very frightened.

My Dachshund, River, gets to take her first cross country car trip to visit grandma and grandpa at their farm in NE PA next week! I’m expecting A LOT of zoomies after being in the car for 28 hours!!!
