Product Review: Ruffwear Swamp Cooler // Ammo the Dachshund

Have you met my best friend Trooper? If you haven’t, you’re really missing out! Trooper is the happiest and hardest working dog I know. While I spend a lot of my time on the family horse farm, my pal Trooper lives there, and his main goal in life is to help with the horses and ALL OF THE CHORES.

Trooper is 8 years old, and because of his breeding (he’s an australian shepherd/labrador mix) and his very hard working nature he sometimes has joint pain and arthritis that slows him down more than he would like.

Thanks to my new friends at TaylorHappy I was able to give him a little secret weapon against that pesky joint pain with the TaylorHappy Glucosamine supplement.

Supplements such as Glucosamine can help to decrease inflammation and improve the the dog’s ability to repair and strengthen tissues. No supplement will ever be able to reverse structural changes in a joint (like torn cartilage, calcium deposits, or advanced scar tissue), but it can help your pet lead a more comfortable life.

When my buddy Trooper isn’t taking a Glucosamine supplement he has a noticeable limp, but when he is on a supplement such as the TaylorHappy Glucosamine his limp disappears and he appears more comfortable.

TaylorHappy Glucosamine is shellfish free, so even dogs with allergies can benefit from taking this supplement. This formula also contains chrondroitin sulfate and MSM to help protect and strengthen the cartilage. Manganese and boron are also added to assist with the production of joint fluids and healthy bone tissue.

Trooper has had a small amount of the liquid added to his daily meals (which he happily scarfs down) for the past month (since May 9th). And he’s pretty happy about it because it means his limp won’t keep him from joining in on all the chores around the farm.

  1. Ammo – thanks for the tip! I’ve been looking into this type of supplement for my 12 year old vizsla. There are so many to choose from, it’s hard to know which one to buy. If it works for Trooper, I’ll give it a try!

    • Oh yes, Trooper has tried a few different glucosamine supplements, but this one has the highest mg dose out of the ones he has tried. He seems to be more comfortable on it, and his noticeable limp does not show up when he’s taking it.

  2. I have two Doxies – Lainey who will be 10 in December and Phoebe who will turn 8 in July!!
Neither has serious signs of arthritis yet, but I think this would be helpful to our 12 year old Lab, Raven. She has been a bit slower in her activities lately.

  3. Yes, my dogs have stiffness in their legs. Kandy is 16 yrs old, Shyla is 15 yrs old and Holly is 10 yrs old.

  4. I would give this to our nana, she has a chihuahua mix and he is showing some signs.
