Just in time for Valentine’s Day I have a simple and easy DIY that your dog is going to love! My DIY Flirt Pole is an interactive dog toy that entices your dog to chase a fast moving lure. The Flirt Pole is quickly becoming my absolute favorite toy to play with. It’s also a great way to exercise high-energy dogs – and if you have been snowed in for as long as I have this is a must!

Step One: If you want your flirt pole to be extra colorful you may want to paint it. I painted mine to have a silvery finish.

Step Two: Once your paint is dry twist a screw eye into one end of it.

Step Three: Cut your fleece into two 25″ x 5″ strips. Alternatively you could also use an old stuffed toy that your dog loves as well.

If you make your dog one toy this year, this should be it. I seriously don’t know how I lived without one for so long!

  1. I’d agree flirt poles are awesome! I use a length of plastic waste pipe (for extra flexibility and light weight) with a length of bungee cord threaded through the middle – this allows a bit more flexibility and speed. My dog goes nuts for this!

  2. my dogs don’t like toys how can I get them to play with me without hurting myself or them????????
